Note –
Your name should not be on the cheque. That is, you can upload by writing cancel in a completely blank check.
If you do not want to upload cancel check then you can upload Bank Statement or Passbook. It should contain both IFSC and MICR code. If there is no one of these then the application made by you will be canceled. If you want, you can upload any two documents here. This means that if the IFS code is given in your bank statement but the MICR code is not given, then you can also attach any other document with it in which the MICR code is given.
The bank proof uploaded through you must contain name, bank logo/sign/stamp, account number, IFSC, and MICR code. In the absence of any of these things, the application will be rejected.
6. Signature –
There should be a scanned copy of your signature. Which you have to upload at the time of opening demat account.
7. Income Proof –
If you want to trade in equity then it is not necessary to give income proof. But if you want to trade in derivatives (F&O) or commodity then you need to provide income proof. How to Open Demat Account in Zerodha?
Let us now tell you the step by step process of opening demat account from zerodha through online method. By this step you can open demat account using any device like computer or mobile.
Step 1: Go to zerodha account opening page from your browser. If you want, you can go directly by clicking on the link. If you go to the Zerodha account opening page, something like this will appear.
Step 2: Enter your valid mobile number to sign up for Zerodha. However, you can enter any number of your choice. But you must have the link number with the Aadhar card. Because in the last step, OTP will be sent to this number for e-sign. Now after that click on sign up.
Step 3: Now OTP will be sent to the number entered by you. Now enter the OTP and proceed. You can use this OTP for 30 minutes to login. That is, this OTP is valid only for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Next, you have to enter your name and email address. Also an OTP will be sent to verify the email ID. Verify the email id by entering the OTP. Now you have to enter your PAN card number and date of birth. Date of Birth should match with your Aadhar card.
Step 5: Now you have to make payment to open trading account in Zerodha. It is taken only once. You can make online payment through UPI or net-banking/card payment.
Step 6: If you have made the payment then now you have to upload your Aadhar card. But for this there is no need to upload any soft copy. You can upload aadhar card through digilocker. For this, first you have to create an account on digilocker. You will directly reach the place to create an account on digilocker through the link given in zerodha.
Remember that to create an account in digilocker, OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number in your Aadhar card. After entering OTP and Aadhar card number, your account will be created in digilocker. You don’t have to worry about digilocker. Just know that it has been launched by the government. After creating an account in Digilocker, link or connect to zerodha.
Step 7: After Aadhar card verification, now you have to give your personal details. After filling it, click on the continue options.
Step 8: Now in this step you have to enter your bank details. Such as account number, bank name, branch’s IFSC Code & MICR code. After that some information will be given. After reading it, tick all the checkboxes.
Step 9: Now you have to do IPV Verification. IPV stands for In-person-verification. For this, you can use the webcam of the phone’s front camera or laptop.
First you will see a photo. In the same way, you have to capture the direct photo from the camera by writing the given OTP. Keep in mind that you cannot upload photos here. So you have to capture with direct camera.
Step 10: In this step you have to upload some important documents. Such as – Bank proof, PAN card, Signature and income proof(optional). After uploading all the documents click on continue.
Step 11: This is the last step to open demat account in zerodha. Which you follow properly. You will be asked for e-signature.
Click on e-sign equity to e-signature. After this you have to tick all the three points after reading some terms and conditions and click on proceed to esign.
Step 12: Now you have to first verify the Aadhar card from the site of NSDL. For this, first you have to enter the Aadhar card number. The number with which your Aadhar card is registered. OTP will be sent in it. Verify by entering OTP.
Step 13: After verifying the Aadhaar, your complete zerodha form will come. Check all the details once. After that click on the option of sign now.
Step 14: Now you have to e-sign in your form. For this, you have been given at most one checkbox, tick it after reading it. Now you have to enter your Aadhaar number once again. After entering the aadhar number, click on send otp. Verify after entering OTP.
Step 15: Congratulations your demat account opening application process is complete. Now this form will go for your one time approval. When approval will be received from zerodha side. Then the id and password will be sent to your email id.
